On 6th December 2011, Prof. Dr.-Ing. habil. Peter Wriggers 
was awarded with the JSCES Grand Prize of the Japan Society for Computational Engineering and Science to honor his worldwide contribution to research in the field of Computational Engineering and Science.
The prize was handed over in Tokyo by Prof. Koichi Ohtomi, President of the Japan Society for Computational Engineering and Science (JSCES).
