Abstract

The design of structures is more and more accomplished by the aid of computers. This leads in many cases to extensive paperwork which may also become difficult to survey. Furthermore, essential checks of the computer produced data are often not included, and specifications for a better and faster understanding of the design calculations are missing. The paper tries to encourage structural engineers to submit short and easily understandable proofs of the structural design. These should be easily legible and verifiable.
